Condition
Colour: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate although the red is deeper and richer in the original.
Condition: There are stable drying cracks to the impasto red paint inherent to the artist’s working process. There are scattered handling marks and some spots of wear / discolouration in places around the edges, notably in the lower left corner. There are stretcher marks and canvas draw in all four corners. There are several areas where the canvas is indented: above the ‘V’; below the upper right corner; and at the bottom of the lower right quadrant. There are several faint rub marks upon close inspection. There is no evidence of any restoration when examined under ultraviolet light.
