Condition

Colour: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate although the overall tonality is softer in the original. Condition: There is wear along all four edges. There are drying cracks and small losses to the figure's face, in keeping with the artist's choice of medium. There are light scattered media accretions to the figure's face and light discolouration to the varnish. Examination under ultra-violet light reveals a few tiny specks that fluoresce along the lower edge and in a few scattered places elsewhere, all of which do not appear to be retouching but rather small surface losses.
