Condition

Colour: The colours in the catalogue illustration are too pale overall. The tonality is much deeper and richer in the original work. The catalogue illustration needs to be rotated 180 degrees. Condition: This work is in good condition overall. At the extreme edges of the paper, in several places there is minor lifting where it adheres to the canvas. There are discoloured glue residues in places at the edge of the canvas. There are small tears to the paper in the upper right and lower right corners, and in several places at the left edge. All of the above appear to be original to the work’s execution and occurred when the paper was laid down. There is no evidence of any retouching when examined under ultraviolet light.
