depicting religious figures within architectural settings, with gilt-metal grounds, one depicting the Virgin Mary and a Saint, the other depicting a scene of the Sacrifice of Isaac and the lamb, from the Story of Abraham; probably previously from an Ecclesiastical vestment; within modern perspex frames

Condition

One Panel: (Four Figures): Left hand side of catalogue page - Framed 35cm. high, 28cm. wide; 1ft. 1in., 11in.; Textile panel approximately 24.5cm. high, 18cm. wide; 9 1/2in, 7in. With pen and ink on reverse paper lining - N.3386007, and small paper label with blue edging, marked 213 A1280003. Very finely worked with beautiful details. Some minor wear to silks, commensurate with age, for example to areas of clothing, see lower section of blue robe, and to the wall between the figures, and minor repairs. Lined with paper, with stitches holding it in place visible. Frame not backed. There is hessian and paper visible in the right hand corner with silks. Some loose threads at edges top left. Other Panel: (Five Figures): Right hand side of catalogue page - Framed 36cm. high, 31cm. wide; 1ft. 2in., 1ft.; Textile panel approximately 25.5cm. high, 20cm. wide; 10in., 8in.; No labels on reverse. Very finely worked with beautiful details. Gold work detailing especially finely executed. Some minor wear to silks, commensurate with age. Some loose threads along the lower edge. Lined with paper, with stitches holding it in place visible. Frame not backed.
