  • Pair of Bookends with Handles in the Form of Leaping Dogs
  • bronze, mounted on later red verona marble plinths

Condition

Overall the condition of the bronzes is good, with minor dirt and wear to the surfaces consistent with age and handling. There are a few original lacunae, including to the tops of the heads of the dogs. One of the dogs is slightly loose from the base and the two pieces of the marble base may have been rejoined. There are small chips to the edges and corners of the marbles bases.
