Catalogue Note
Arthur Lane, in Italian Porcelain, London, 1954 discusses the output of this experimental and short-lived Venetian factory. A portrait plaque is illustrated pl.15, which also bears the distincitve V mark. He also mentions the use of green and a bright dry yellow enamel used in the decoration, which is a strong feature of the present lot. G. Mordizzoni, in op. cit., vol. I, pl. 30 and pl. 31, also illustrates a series of similar figures, bearing the V initial.
