wearing motley jacket and black pantaloons, holding a red bonnet to his head, a slapstick hidden in his right hand, on white round base (some restoration)

Kirchner firstly modelled a Pantalone based on an engraving by Jacques Callot of 1618/1619, and then this Harlequin, based on Watteau's paintings. For a similar version, see R. Jansen, fig. 10.
