Condition
The photography is brighter than the paitning itself, especially in the houses. It is also yellower in the trees and in the water.
The painting is on its original canvas. Under UV light, a green varnish appears by places, especially in the dark areas.
a repaint is visible on the lower right hand part. The sky and a part of the house have been strenghtened with a light glaze but the painting underneath seems in good condition.

Catalogue Note
André Schoeller et Jean Dieterle datent ce tableau des années 1860 - 1865. Il pourrait avoir été peint soit en 1857, lors du séjour de Corot à Beauvais chez son ami Badin, directeur de la manufacture de tapisserie, soit en 1866 lorsque Corot séjourne à Voisinlieu, près de Beauvais, chez Monsieur Wallet.
