Condition

Under naked eye: the painting appears in good condition. It is slightly worn by places and it has been relined ; no repaint visible. The painting is less yellow and more vivid than the photo in the catalogue Under UV light: the painting appears under a heavy green varnish; only a few tiny old repaints are visible. The painting is in good overall condition

En été 1866, Corot villégiaturait chez son ami Bochard à Noisy-le-Grand, en Seine- et-Oise ; il y exécuta cinq paysages, dont notre tableau (Cf. Robaut 1365 à 1369).
