Condition

This ferrotyped print, on medium-weight paper, is in generally very good condition. The print is somewhat wavy. When examined closely, there is some creasing visible that does not break the emulsion at the upper edge at the left, as well as a small area of original retouching in the central portion of the print near the right edge. When examined in raking light, there are visible characteristics typical of the ferrotyping process: unevenness in the glossiness of the surface, with less gloss at the edges; some circular areas that are matte near the center of the print; and some small pitting of the surface. On the reverse of the print, the following are written in pencil: a directional arrow, 'top,' and '400540.' There is light soiling on the reverse, as well as some slight age-darkening at the periphery.
