Condition
This photograph, on semi-glossy paper, is in generally very good condition. Silvering is visible, primarily at the print's periphery and in the dark areas of the image. In high raking light, the following are visible overall: scattered tiny deposits of original retouching; and various soft surface scuffs and insignificant scratches (the longest of which measures 4-inches and is in the lower left quadrant). There is a particle adhered to the print surface in the lower left quadrant. There is a tiny loss of emulsion along the upper-right edge of the print.
The print is on a thin, flexible mount, with four perforations along the left edge. The mount is soiled, and evidence of minor foxing is visible on the lower portion of the mount. The mount corners are creased.
On the reverse of the mount, the Can-Can copyright stamp is annotated in pencil with reference number 'NPV 0224.' The Norman Parkinson Trust stamp is annotated in pencil: Ref. 'NPV-0224'; Initial 'num' (indistinctly); and copyright Can Can Limited '1938.' The reverse of the mount is soiled and worn from handling. There is a strip of linen tape (measuring one-inch wide) running along the right edge of the reverse of the mount, which reinforces the perforations.
When examined under ultraviolet light, this print does not appear to fluoresce.
