Condition
This oversized, warm-toned early print is in essentially very good condition. The paper has a slight eggshell texture and surface sheen. A border of silvering is visible at the periphery of the image. In raking light, a few pen-point-sized impressions that do not break the emulsion are visible in the upper portion of the image. A few small deposits of original retouching are also visible overall. In the lower margin corners, 'O. K.' and '27' (circled) are in an unidentified hand in pencil.
This print is mounted to sturdy, rigid board. Pervasive adhesive residue and thin paper remnants on the mount and margin of the print indicate that this print was once overmatted. There is an abrasion to the top paper-ply in the upper left corner of the mount; this does not affect the print.
On the reverse of the mount, the Kenneth Taylor Galleries label is covered by several strips of brown transparent packing tape. The reverse of the mount is soiled, and there are abrasions to the top paper-ply. 'KB' and the number '72' (twice) are in an unidentified hand in pencil.
