  • Gelatin silver print
mounted, signed in pencil on the mount, framed, the Buhl Collection label on the reverse, 1930

Provenance

Nathalie Karg, Ltd., New York, 1994

Condition

This early, warm-toned print, on paper with a semi-matte surface, has been asymetrically mounted, at the upper right corner, onto off-white board. There are tiny, barely noticeable nicks at the right edge. When examined in raking light, some faint scratches are visible, principally in the lower left quadrant. The photograph has not been spotted, so that whatever tiny spots are visible are in the negative. The mount is age-darkened and lightly soiled on the front and back. There is a dark gray 3/8-inch deposit, likely ink, in the lower left corner of the mount on the front. The number '05' is in pencil on the reverse.
