  • Unique photocollage
a unique object, collage of half-tone photographic reproductions, circa 1936

Condition

This surreal collage is made entirely of reprographic elements and it is in generally excellent condition. Hugnet meticulously cut and fanned out 5 images of serpentine arms, and affixed them at the center of a canal street scene taken from a magazine or book. On the reverse of the collage is a reproduction of a portrait entitled 'Une Jolie Lady' by the Manassé Studio, active in Vienna during the 1920s and 1930s.
