- Solarized ferrotyped gelatin silver print
ferrotyped, signed in pencil on the reverse, framed, the Buhl Collection label on the reverse, 1930
Provenance
Nathalie Karg, Ltd., New York, 1994
Condition
This striking early solarized and ferrotyped photograph, on single-weight paper, is in generally excellent condition. The edges are very lightly rubbed, particularly at the lower edge. When examined in raking light, issues that are typical of ferroryping are present: namely, faint scratches, striations from the drum, and tiny, random pitting of the surface. Also visible in raking light are very small deposits of original retouching.
