Condition

This work is in good condition overall. The canvas is clear and taut. Upon ultraviolet inspection, there was indication of restoration, which is mainly found on the horse's tail and lower right corner of the painting. There were also indications of delicate craquelure on the darker colour impasto but the paint layers are in stable condition. Framed.

Catalogue Note

"The space in depth is built by sudden syncopated interruptions, broken and vibrating lines which change people and things (men, trees, boats, land, sea, etc.) into the same pictorial material. The stylistic coherence compels everything to vibrate with the same energy be it the hard matter of the rocks, or the water, or even the air."
