The lacquer is in good condition. The wood is in good condition, with neither cracks nor warping evident. Examination under ultraviolet light reveals a few small spots of retouching on the upper middle edge, which are visible only under UV light. The colours of the actual lacquer is less red and less yellow than the catalogue illustration. The grey in the rooftops is more prominent in reality. (The lacquer was examined within its frame).
