Scattered craquelures. Slightly irregular varnish. Minor restoration mainly in the upper right corner and along the edges apparent under uv-light.

Die Walliser Bergwelt bot Diday einen unerschöpflichen Fundus an Bildmotiven; so wandte er sein Augenmerk immer wieder auf die markanten Bergriesen und die spektakulären Taleinschnitte. Hier nun lässt er den Betrachter von der Höhe hinabsteigen, ein Wegkreuz und eine kleine Gruppe Einheimischer - Farbtupfen in der sattgrünen Szenerie - passieren. Noch liegt sommerliche Wärme über den Felsen und Matten, doch künden die aufziehenden Wolken schon von einem aufziehenden Gewitter.
