Acquired directly from the artist by the father of the present owner in Moscow in the 1960s

Condition

There are minor chips to the board in the upper right and bottom corners. The paint surface is slightly dirty. There are stains to the left of the central post, possibly made when the work was varnished. UV light reveals uneven layer of varnish, especially to the upper half of the canvas, with aforementioned stains visible to the middle and lower left of the composition. There are no apparent retouching. Held in a wooden frame. Unexamined out of frame.
