Condition

Original canvas. There is a layer of light surface dirt, especially to the impasto. There are small chips of paint loss to the upper and lower parts of the canvas, including a small chip approximately 1.5cm in length 10cm above the lower left edge. There are lines of craquelure running across the top left corner and the paint surface has cracked by the inner frame edge in this area. There are some lines of craquelure and scratches in places. UV light reveals retouching along all the inner frame edges with further small areas of retouching to the central composition. Held in a simple black wooden frame. Unexamined out of frame.
