Condition
The canvas has been lined. There is some light abrasion to the paint surface in places along the inner frame edge. The picture is clean and ready to hang. UV light reveals retouching down a vertical line running close to the left hand inner frame edge, and to seven horizontal lines across the composition. There are further areas of retouching in places elsewhere, vor example the base of the tree, the corners and additional infilling to craquelure in the bottom portion of the work. The presence of a thick and opaque layer of varnish prevents a more conclusive analysis. Held in a modern moulded plaster frame. Unexamined out of frame.
