Condition
Original canvas. The surface is covered with a layer of varnish. There is craquelure in the sky area and minor spots of craquelure in other portions of the canvas, but the paint layer is stable. UV light reveals spots of retouching to the sky, with further minor spots to the central house. Small spots of pigment in the sky and houses fluoresce under UV, however the presence of an opaque layer of varnish prevents a more conclusive analysis. Held in a gold painted wood frame. Unexamined out of frame.
