Condition
Original canvas, which is slightly loose on the stretcher. There is a small hole approximately 3cm in length to middle left wave. There are some faint stretcher marks along the top and the right side. The paint surface is slightly dirty, mostly to the impasto. There is a small chip of paint loss above the signature in the lower right. UV light reveals no apparent retouching, some pigments fluoresce. A layer of uneven varnish prevents from further analysis. Held in a wooden frame with plaster moulding. Unexamined out of frame.
