Condition
Original canvas which is a little loose on the stretcher. The paint surface is slightly dirty. There are some visible lines of craquelure running horizontally across the canvas approximately at the level of the horizontal stretcher bar. There is a vertical stretcher mark running down the right hand edge of the work, and further lines of craquelure in places elsewhere. UV light reveals a spot of retouching to the left of the sitter's right arm.
Held in a gold painted wooden frame. Unexamined out of frame.
