Condition
La Rue:
The stage designs consist of two sheets glued together. There is a small semicircular tear to the left of the right window. There are scratches in places, especially to the top left corner. Held in modern metal black frame under glass. Unexamined out of frame.
The sofa:
The sheet appears sound. There are areas of paint loss to the upper right corner, a few spots along the right edge, and further areas to the lower left corner. The surface is slightly dirty and has marginally discoloured. There are some handling marks to the bottom edge. Held in a gold painted frame under glass. Unexamined out of frame.
Other 4 works:
There are minor rubbings along the edges, which resulted in paint loss. Apart from some surface smudges and minor stains, the overall condition is good and the colours are fresh. Held in matching modern frames painted in gold under glass. Unexamined out of frame.

Catalogue Note
It is likely these designs date to 1953 when Annenkov adapted and directed a theatrical production of Gogol's The Nose, however the location of the performance is unknown.
