Catalogue Note

Arthur Honegger (1892-1955) was a member of Les Six - a group of six composers working in Montparnasse, whose work is seen as a reaction to the impressionist music of Debussy and Ravel. He is perhaps best known for Pacific 231, an orchestral piece inspired by the sound of a steam locomotive.
