Condition

Troika racing past an Inn: The board is slightly bowed. The paint surface is dirty and the varnish has yellowed. There is a small area of abrasion (4cm long) lower left. Lines of craquelure are visible to the top and right hand edge of the work. The picture would benefit from a surface clean. Held in a modern gold painted wooden frame. Unexamined out of frame. Sleigh leaving an Izba. The paint surface is dirty with a layer of discoloured varnish. There are some losses to the figures in the sleigh and other small chips of paint loss in places elsewhere. There are patches of craquelure in places. UV light reveals no apparent retouching on both works.
