Condition
Original canvas, which is uneven in the top left hand corner. There are very light abrasions to the edges. There are vertical lines of craquelure, mainly to the upper half of the canvas. There is a repaired patch on the reverse, which corresponds with a crossline of retouching to the centre of the cloud above the bow of the boat. There is a patch of old retouching to the left of the boat in the distance. UV light reveals uneven thick layer of varnish, which prevents conclusive examination. Held in a wooden gold painted frame. Unexamined out of frame.
