of cartouche form, the panels carved of striated brown and milky agate, set in gold cagework mounts chased with scrolls, flowers and shells on sablĂ© grounds, the bombĂ© sides and corners with acanthus, the raised thumbpiece set with diamonds, rubies, emeralds and a sapphire, 72 standard, in original gilt-tooled red leather case

Condition

Excellent condition and very well-made. The leather case with time wear. It is possible that the thumbpiece is a later addition.
