of cartouche form, the panels carved of striated brown and milky agate, set in gold cagework mounts chased with scrolls, flowers and shells on sablé grounds, the bombé sides and corners with acanthus, the raised thumbpiece set with diamonds, rubies, emeralds and a sapphire, 72 standard, in original gilt-tooled red leather case
Condition
Excellent condition and very well-made. The leather case with time wear. It is possible that the thumbpiece is a later addition.
