- width of covered serving bowl including handles 17.5cm, 17 1/2 in.
comprising two large covered serving bowls with handles and finials formed as scrolling acanthus leaves, two medium serving platters, sixteen dinner plates, all decorated in gilt and partly burnished gilt scrolling acanthus leaves, with blue or black Imperial ciphers of Nicholas I, one plate apparently unmarked; with sixteen later dinner plates with conforming decoration, Eduard Schinkel or J.F. Maercklin, Stuttgart
Condition
all of the pieces with some losses or rubbing to gilding; the underside of one serving bowl with a chip to the foot; one serving platter with a small firing flaw on the underside; one dinner plate with a chip to the underside rim; and, one of the later dinner plates with a partially repaired chip to the underside of the rim as well as two with small moulding flaws
