Original canvas. The surface is slightly dirty. There are flecks of paint loss to the bottom and top right inner frame edges, and further spots along the left inner frame edge, possibly due to frame abrasion. There are prominent lines of craquelure, which are slightly unstable in the top right quadrant and upper left section, and a further area on the apple in the foreground. Held in a modern wooden frame. Unexamined out of frame.
