  • signed in Cyrillic and dated 1871 l.r.; further inscribed on the reverse in Cyrillic: Ilya Efimovich Repin gave this sepia drawing to Mark Matveevich Antokolsky. After the death of the latter Yakov Isaakevich Zilberman bought this sepia drawing from the descendent of  Countess Tere, formerly Montefior, in 1912

Condition

The sheet has discoloured and there are spots of staining and foxing in places. The pencil has smudged and the colours have faded slightly. Held in a gold painted plaster frame with some minor losses and under glass. Unexamined out of frame.
