  • the oklad, Moscow, 1845, and with Cyrillic initials S.E. for unidentified master (Postnikova-Loseva no. 2867)
  • Tempera on wood, gilded silver, enamel, velvet backing
  • 12 3/4 x 10 1/2 in.
  • 32.4 x 26.7 cm
the oklad in the Neo-Rococo taste, richly chased and repoussé with shells and scrolls along the borders and the Holy figures' clothing richly ornamented, also applied with radiating halos and enamel plaques

Condition

some wear to oklad consistent with age, including a few small dents to end of rays on halos; applied enamel at left slightly loose
