Condition

This is an extremely decorative and power wall painting. The colours are softer and less contrasting than in the catalogue illustration. This work had been roll up for several years which has caused a number of losses and crackles in the pitcural layer. It has been restored, and there are a number of repaints and retouches mainly in the sky, the river and the background, visible under UV light.

Since we are not professional conservators or restorers, we urge you to consult with a restorer or conservator of your choice who will be better able to provide a detailed, professional report. Catalogue Note
