the two opposing frogs with articulated bodies, one concealing a watch, applied with white enamel, set with 6 cabochon rubies and 43 round diamonds weighing approximately .85 carat, mechanical movement, internal circumference approximately 6ΒΌ inches, dial signed Webb, bracelet signed David Webb and Webb.
Condition
In good condition. The enamel is intact with the exception of a few minor losses visible under magnification.The rich, purplish-red cabochon rubies are moderately included, one cabochon bearing a chip and another with some small cavities due to surface reaching inclusions. They range from 6.4 by 3.9 mm to 9.9 by 8.5 mm. The diamonds are aprpoximately H-I color, VS clarity. The watch is of Swiss manufacture with an unsigned mechanical movement. Some minor enamel damage. One of the gold accents is missing. One diamond is missing and will be replaced for the purchaser by Sotheby's. The bracelet is operated by flipping up the large cabochon ruby by the frogs' legs and the dial is exposed by flipping up one of the frog's feet. Dimensions: Internal circumference 6 1/4 inches.
