Condition
The canvas is unlined. The surface of the work is in good condition, apart from areas of apparent craquelure with some tenting above the dog's back and head, to the left of its muzzle, a larger area to the left of its front legs, and beneath its feet. A thick varnish overall.
Terrier: 15 3/4 by 12 5/8 in.; 40 by 32 cm. The canvas is unlined. The surface of the work is in fair condition, with apparent craquelure throughout probably covered with repaint and a thick masking varnish. Stretcher bar marks. Two repairs in the background, to the right of the dog's head and to the left of the hanging tassle.
