Condition
The canvas is lined. The surface of the work is in fair condition apart from areas of inpainting visible in the background, the dog flattened and slightly abraded. Fine pressed craquelure throughout. Under UV: A very thick, masking varnish, a few spots of repaint throughout, mainly in the background above the dog and in the trees at upper right and left. The dog and landscape probably also with older repaint hidden by varnish.
