Condition
Both are lined. The first (head facing right) with the surface in good condition apart from apparent craquelure throughout, tenting slightly in places, and pigment separation in the dog and in the sky. Stretcher bar marks. Surface soiling throughout.
The second with the surface in generally good condition apart from several small abrasions in the sky with associated pigment loss, a tiny repaired tear in the sky upper right. Pressed craquelure visible primarily in the dog and in the sky above its head. The canvas undulating slightly, with frame abrasion around the edges. Surface soiling throughout, the paint thin in the background.
