Condition
The canvas has been lined. The surface of the work is in good condition, apart from a small area of restoration in the background upper right, visible with the naked eye. Craquelure with some pigment separation in the dog's body. A dry and uneven varnish. Under UV light: a thick, masking varnish obscures the background. A few spots of heightening along the dog's right side and left shoulder, and along the right edge of the canvas.
