There are some typical very occasional minor chips to the scalloped edges of the shells. One shell has a 1-1/2 in. by 1-1/2 in. restored area on one corner possibly covering a chip; the restoration is old and is now flaking. The same shell has the other edge chipped and glued back with some residues of restoration mostly around the rim; this piece was most likely stabilized with a metal insert, which is now apparent at the rim edge. Another shell has an approximate 1-1/2 inch long haircrack running parallel to the rim in the cavetto area. There are a few occasional very small chips or losses to the coral and shell-encrusted support. There are some occasional small areas in the interior of the shells, where it feels gritty, which is prbably firing related.
