Condition
Whitford: The canvas has been lined. The picture surface is in generally good condition aside from some discoloration at the extreme edges. Under UV: there is a masking varnish over the majority of the work, but inpainting can be seen scattered through the sky at upper right.
van Sluys: signed Th. van Sluys upper right. 10 1/2 by 14 1/4 in.; 26.7 by 36.2 cm. The panel has a bevel on the reverse. The picture surface is in generally good condition aisde from minor abrasion at the extreme edges and a web of craquelure over the majority of the work. Under UV: some of the craquelure in the right side of the work has been inpainted.
