oil on panel. Together with English School, MALTESE WITH A YELLOW RIBBON, oil on paperboard. 2 works.

Condition
Poodle: The surface of the work is in good condition. A crack in the panel near the bottom of the picture extending from right to left visible upon close inspection and showing through on the reverse, with possible associated repaint. A tiny loss in the carpet lower left. Ready to hang. Under UV: there are inpaints scattered in the darks around the dog and in his muzzle and a few very minor spots in the upper right quadrant.
Maltese: 11 1/2 by 9 1/4 in.; 29.2 by 23.5 cm. The surface of the work is in good condition, with fine pressed craquelure throughout, lifting slightly to the left of the dog's muzzle. Under UV: very minor, pin-point sized inpaints scattered near the edges.
