The top inset with a canvas-work picture worked in tent stitch with colored wools depicting a seated Oriental gentleman in an interior, framed under glass within a molded frame with scroll-carved corners, the turned stem with a triangular base with flattened turned toes.
Condition
Lovely color and surface; overall fair condition; the needlework slightly faded and with small losses in places; old repaired break to top of stem at join with top with old glue residue now slightly loose; repairs to edges of stem and with two losses to molded foot of stem; th tripartite base with some small losses to the veneer; overall with some old marks, scratches and bruises consistent with age and use.
