Catalogue Note
Beginning in the mid-1960s with Martin Lewis' Rainy Day, Queens, Delores D. Di Paola assembled one of the most extensive Lewis collections in private hands, partially represented by lots 3-22. She assisted her friend and dealer, Paul McCarron, in research for his catalogue raisonné on the artist, and had been working on revisions to the catalogue up until a few years before her death.
