Description

  • Paul Strand
  • 'CONNECTICUT PINES'
  • Sepia toned Palladium print
warm-toned palladium print, signed, dated, and annotated 'Sepia Palladium print,' and with title and a partially concealed Paul Strand Archive number in pencil on the reverse, framed, 1925

Provenance

Christie's New York, 11 November 1986, Sale 6234, Lot 387

Condition

This sepia palladium print, on velvety paper with a very slight surface sheen, is in generally excellent condition. Upon very close examination, the following are visible: a one-inch scratch, which appears to break the emulsion in an isolated area, near the lower left edge; and a one-inch thin deposit of original retouching in the upper left quadrant. Neither is immediately apparent nor detracts in any way from this handsome print. The margins are warm-toned. The upper right margin corner is creased, and there are 2 small losses to the tips of the upper margin corners.
In response to your inquiry, we are pleased to provide you with a general report of the condition of the property described above. NOTWITHSTANDING THIS REPORT OR ANY DISCUSSIONS CONCERNING CONDITION OF A LOT, ALL LOTS ARE OFFERED AND SOLD "AS IS" IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CONDITIONS OF SALE PRINTED IN THE CATALOGUE.

Catalogue Note
