Description

  • George H. Seeley
  • RHYTHM
  • gelatin silver/platinum print
oversized warm-toned print, circa 1910

Provenance

Originally from the Estate of George Seeley
Swann Galleries, New York, 20 October 2005, Sale 2053, Lot 65A

Condition

This warm-toned print, on paper with a pebble-textured surface, is in generally excellent condition. Upon very close examination, a few tiny deposits of original retouching are visible. In the upper right margin, and extending somewhat into the image, there is a rust-colored deposit (confined to a 2-inch area) of indeterminate nature. On the reverse of the print, 'F-43' and '106800-ST' are written in an unidentified hand in pencil. There are two one-and-1/4-inch paper tape hinge remnants along the upper edge on the reverse.
