Condition
This print, on lightly-textured paper with a very slight surface sheen, is in generally very good condition. Upon close examination, the following are visible: occasional deposits of original retouching; and a tiny loss of emulsion in the sitter's cheek. The print is rubbed at the periphery and corners with some attendant chipping, and there is a thin loss of emulsion along the upper right edge. There is a half-inch band near the upper edge of the print that is slightly darker in tonality.
The print is mounted to a green-backed board. On the reverse of the mount are scattered faint foxing, light soiling, and 2 rust-colored horizontal bands. Also on the reverse, the letter 'J' is written in an unknown hand in pencil.
