Condition

All photographs are on the two-toned Wheeler Survey mount, each of which shows some minor degree of soiling, age-darkening, and minor wear on the edges and corners. 'Section of South Side of Zuni Pueblo, N. M.' -- Judging this albumen print on a scale of 1 to 10 – a 10 being an albumen print that has deep near-black dark tones and highlights that retain all of their original detail – this print rates a 6. The tonality seems light overall, but the print still possesses a great deal of detail. 'Lost Lakes, Near Meigs Peak, Col.' -- Judging this albumen print on a scale of 1 to 10 – a 10 being an albumen print that has deep near-black dark tones and highlights that retain all of their original detail – this print rates a 6. The highlights are very faintly yellowed. 'Lake in Conejos Canon, Col.' -- Judging this albumen print on a scale of 1 to 10 – a 10 being an albumen print that has deep near-black dark tones and highlights that retain all of their original detail – this print rates 6 or 7. The right portion of the image is partially detached from the mount, and the clean look of the reverse of the print suggests that adhesive was never applied. 'Park Near Head of Conejos Canon, Col.,' -- Judging this albumen print on a scale of 1 to 10 – a 10 being an albumen print that has deep near-black dark tones and highlights that retain all of their original detail – this print rates a 7 or 8. The lighter tones show some diminishment of detail. The white specks in the mountain on the left are due to imperfections in the negative and appear in other prints of this image. Overall condition is generally very good. There is some age-darkening on the mount.
