Condition

Both prints in good to very good general condition. One print with matt surface, on single-weight paper, with silvering visible in the dark parts, with strong folds in the upper left and right corners, the lower right corner worn, the edges occasionally with tiny chips. The second print with a semi-glossy surface, single-weight paper, the corners slightly worn and with tiny pinholes, the upper left corner with a small fold, with a fold parallel to the lower half of the right edge.

Catalogue Note

Les lots 15 et 16 sont tous deux en lien avec la famille Codreanu, dont les sœurs Irina et Lizica étaient des proches de Brancusi. La sculpteure et peintre Irina vint à Paris, accompagnée de sa sœur, pour étudier la sculpture tandis que Lizica devint danseuse dans l’avant-garde parisienne. Dans son studio n°11 Impasse Ronsin, Brancusi expérimente la sculpture en mouvement en photographiant et filmant ses amies dansant parmi ses œuvres.
