Lors de l’édition de 1966 des Photokina-Bilderschauen à Cologne, une exposition spéciale fut consacrée à l’œuvre de Jacques-Henri Lartigue. A cette occasion, des tirages de très grand format furent exécutés à Paris par Pierre Gassmann à partir de négatifs originaux et sous la supervision directe de Lartigue, dont cet élégant instantané.
